Arrived at Austin–Bergstrom International Airport at around 9:00am. We stopped by Starbucks to start our day {you will quickly notice my love/hate relationship with caffeine} then we headed to The Domain because…shopping.  We walked and explored A LOT because the beautiful outdoor mall goes on forever – at least it felt like it.

The original plan was to spend the day in Austin and then drive to San Antonio later that evening, BUT we fell in love with Austin, really just The Domain, so much we wanted to stay a little longer! So I hopped onto my One Night Standard App to see if any last minute rooms were available at any of the cute hotels nearby and voilà – we booked a room on the top floor of The Archer Hotel within minutes. Mom couldn’t believe how impulsive it was, but considering it was my birthday I thought “why not?”

For dinner we ate at Taverna, recommended by our friends over at The Archer, and it was amazing! The service was excellent and the Risotto Con Burrata was amazing. I also highly encourage ordering the Chocolate Hazelnut Budino for dessert because let’s not kid ourselves – it’s the best one on the menu.

After a great night’s sleep, we went down to Second Bar + Kitchen for brunch {pro tip: arrive before 11am if you want breakfast food} we almost missed the cutoff (!) got super lucky that the kitchen staff still was willing to do one last breakfast for us and I’m so grateful because everything was delishhhh. We shared the Strawberry Lavender Scones, Crispy French Toast {pictured below} and the Brown Butter Waffle. Between my mom, sister and I everything was the perfect portion and so yummy.

Afterwards, we headed up to the rooftop pool! It wasn’t as sunny as we would have liked, but it worked out great because we had it all to ourselves. Once we figured we’d probably see enough of The Domain we stopped by Whole Foods and made our way to Zilker Park for a little impromptu picnic!

Another pool day! We picked up this pineapple floaty at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale from SunnyLife Australia and got quite the kick out of it {planning on getting the swan as well} so cute and actually functional!

The rest of my trip we worked on some DIY projects, cooked at home, visited family and did a little home decor shopping. I might have also gotten my mom and sister hooked on Gilmore Girls, haha you’re welcome.

Thanks for catching up with me friends, ’till next week!

XO, Gaby
