“Life beings at the end of your comfort zone.”
– Neale Donald Walsch
One of the many lessons I learned from my years of studying dance is the importance of pushing past your own limits. Not only is this the only way to improve a certain step, movement or phrase as a dancer. More importantly, it is the only way to grow; as a working professional and a person in general.
Believe me when I say that I know the uncertainty of wandering the unknown can be scary, but isn’t it also invigorating? The adrenaline rush that comes with the nervousness of exploring something new (something that you’ve most likely been wanting to do, but have felt too insecure). Or how about the excitement of finally accomplishing something you’ve put on the back burner for so long?
We all have all our battles, but more often than not the only thing/person standing between us and our dreams is ourselves. I know it sounds cliché, but you know it’s true!
Join me in doing at least one teensy little thing once a week that either scares you or that you’ve been putting off for too long.
My #BeyondYourComfortZone story this week was doing this photoshoot with my photographer friend, Chloe. You can ask her, I felt so awkward at first having people looking at me, judging me and then I thought “who cares?!” I’m having fun and I’m proud of myself for finally putting myself out there and going for it. People are going to judge no matter what anyway!
Can’t wait to hear what guys do, leave a comment below telling us what you plan on accomplising before next week.
